YIP Initiative Forum 2011: Peer-led Education

Taking a hosting break on Day 4 of the YIP meeting, I have attended two sessions in OpenSpace. The first was a conversation around experiences in peer-led education hosted by Seth from Think OutWord in the US.

„Founded in January of 2008, Think OutWord is a peer-led training in Social Threefolding for young adults with little money and busy lives. Think OutWord is an incubator for new social ideas and related practical action – participants design and host seminars, offer presentations, lead workshops, and create new initiatives.“

In this session, I also met Matthias who is part of this peer-led anthroposophic study programme in Berlin (sometimes you need to go abroad to meet interesting people from your city!): www.bornstr11.de

In the next session, YIPpies Johanna, Silva, Christina, and Sebastian were sharing some stories about their Warriors without Weapons experience in Brazil this January. It was great to hear some personal stories of the process that I had read about last month in this new book: Walk Out Walk On
